Fue fundador de la mítica librería-galería Other Books And So, la primera de su género dedicada a antilibros, pseudolibros, cuasilibros, libros concretos, libros visuales, libros conceptuales, libros estructurales, libros proyecto, libros declaración, libros instrucción.Carrión preanunció algunas de las teorías del arte digital hoy, como por ejemplo, su concepción del plagio como “punto de partida de la actividad creativa”.

Ulises Carrión (1941, San Andrés Tuxtla, Mexico – 1989, Amsterdam) was a key figure of conceptualism. He was an artist, poet, editor and theorist. He founded the legendary bookshop-gallery Other Books and So (1975–79) in Amsterdam, the first of its kind dedicated to artists’ publications such as “non books, anti books, pseudo books, quasi books, concrete books, visual books, conceptual books, structural books, project books, statement books, instruction books”. Carrion preannounced some of the theories of digital art today, such as the concept of plagiarism as the “starting point of creative activity”.
